Rather Boring Necessary Introduction

I’m a Children’s Literature Graduate Student at Simmons College…pretty sweet huh?  My work in the community schools and libraries has shown me that many librarians and educators in urban areas are grossly lacking support. While this blog will primarily lend me hours of internet entertainment I also hope that those in the field will have an opportunity to learn about new books that can help create engaging curriculums, reader groups, or just be something they would enjoy picking up.

So here’s the thing.  I’m nobody special in the world of Children’s Literature.  I don’t go to $300+ conferences, I don’t work for a children’s magazine, and I don’t receive ARCs in the mail.  Instead, I shift through bookstores, libraries, and my fancier friends’ bookshelves.  But I do love this stuff.

I also whole heartily invite conversations because this is a place to love, interrogate, and explore books.
