“Marcelo in the Real World”, but…for real

Francisco Stork’s Marcelo in the Real World was everything to me for the two glorious days that it enveloped my life.

And I know I want to share this book but I also know that I don’t want to actually say anything about it.  (At least not yet)

I don’t want to turn Marcelo into a construction quite yet.  Where his voice and motivations become ‘the text’s’….fill in the blank with academic crap like ‘narration’ and ‘promotion’.

I just want to keep him real for a little longer.

And I think that is a magnificent accomplishment.

  1. ooh, ok, i’ve decided that, with your recommendation, this will be my next read! Francisco Stork came and spoke at the summer institute, but for some reason i haven’t picked it up yet…thanks, small hands, big books!

  2. I think that’s one of the loveliest things I’ve ever heard about this book. ❤
